Are Summer Camps Safe? What Parents Should Know.

Can I Trust You With My Kid?

This is the real question.

Before schedules. Before activities. Before anything else.

Can I trust this camp with the most important people in my world?

Here are just a few of the many ways we keep campers safe.

Every cabin has two trained counselors, and our overall camper-to-staff ratio is 3:1. Staff members complete comprehensive background checks and receive safety training from the local fire department before campers ever arrive.

A licensed EMT or nurse is on site 24/7, and we staff an on-call doctor for non-life-threatening emergencies.

If your child takes medication, it is collected at check-in, stored securely in the infirmary, and administered by trained staff at the appropriate times. You don’t need to worry about missed doses or misplaced prescriptions. We handle that carefully and consistently.

Certified lifeguards oversee waterfront activities, and the required safety equipment is used where it should be.

How Camp Staff Support Homesick Campers

But trust is more than policies and facts.

If a camper feels homesick, we don’t shame them. We coach them through it. Small cabins mean someone notices when a camper seems off.

Belonging isn’t accidental here. If your camper wants to be in the same cabin as a friend, we will do our best to honor that. And if they arrive not knowing anyone, they are in good company — most campers don’t. That is why counselors intentionally build connections from the very first day so every kid feels like they belong.
