The Benefits of Overnight Summer Camp for Kids

No need to rush, but you don’t have to solve it perfectly either.

If you have been thinking for a while about sending your kid to summer camp, by this point, you have probably thought about:

  • Homesickness.

  • Readiness.

  • Safety.

  • Faith.

  • Belonging.

Because that’s what good parents do.

Campers learning about team work

You don’t have to rush this decision.

But you also don’t have to solve it perfectly.

Sometimes the clearest sign is answering a question like this:

Does Camp Firwood feel like an environment where my child could grow?

We’ve spent over 70 years building a place where students are safe, known, challenged, and supported.

  1. If you’re ready, register your camper: Secure your camper’s spot and choose the week that works best for your family. Summer sessions are approaching, and some weeks are already filling.

  2. If you still have questions, ask them: Call our office. Use our 24/7 camp info line. Chat with us on the website. Send an email. If you’d prefer a callback, fill out this form and someone from our team will reach out. No question is too small — safety, homesickness, faith, or logistics.

  3. If cost is part of your hesitation, let us know: We never want finances alone to determine whether your kid can attend camp.

a camper being welcomed to camp on her first day.

And if the timing isn’t right this year, that’s okay, too. We’ll be here next year.

We’re grateful you are taking the time to consider trusting us with your kid.
